My 3 Aracauna hens have just started laying their first-ever eggs! So, we're taking some to eat, but I'd also like to see if they'll sit on some (we have 3 willing roosters). One of them has made a tidy little nest in the hay on the floor of the coop with 4 eggs in it, so I haven't taken those. Should the hen be incubating them already? I haven't seen anybody sitting on them.
If I want the hens to hatch some chicks, should I not take any eggs for awhile??
