Posted - Jun 25 2008 : 6:53:21 PM We'd like to put together our own organic chicken feed this year instead of watching the cost of the mixed layer pellets go through the roof. I'm thinking to buy 50lb bags of each of the grains separately and mix them myself. It's got to be less expensive and I'd be sure to know what's in it.
Anyone got a good recipe? Ours free range on bugs and slugs and pasture grass.
warmly, Jacqueline

Posted - Jun 26 2008 : 12:24:33 PM I've got a few bags left of the organic layer ration we buy from Countryside Naturals in VA. Shipping, as you might imagine, is outrageous. So, I'm going to have to come up with a new solution too. The references I've come up with so far are the Countryside ingredient list: http://www.countrysidenatural.com/feeds.html And some recipes here: http://www.lionsgrip.com/recipes.html
