Last weekend, we celebrated our newly finished outdoor fire pit with a marshmallow roast. To make it extra special, we made our very own marshmallows using MaryJane's recipe. We even ordered organic corn syrup from our local food co-op to make sure we steered clear of high fructose. It was super sticky fun!

Check out a few pics of the goo on my blog: http://www.bovesboots.blogspot.com/

And you can get MJ's recipe here:

Her homemade graham crackers are also fantastic, I just didn't have time to make them!

Check out this topic, Christina:

I posted a bunch of pics of our s-l-o-w project. We transformed an already-there stone ring from a pool perimeter to a fire pit. Obviously, that made it easier than starting totally from scratch, as did the sand that was under the pool - made it easy to set the rocks in fairly level. I love it - such a clean surface amid our jungle of buggy grass. we haven't used it much this summer, but fall is calling!

Oooh, there's also a "Fire Pit" topic over on MJ's Farmgirl forum. Neat pics there too:

Jen, how did you make your outdoor fire pit? Did you just dig a hole or did you dig a hole and line it with bricks or rocks? I really want to put one in! Then I would have a great reason to make those yummy s'more fixin's!
