In God's great outdoors, you can learn valuable life lessons and about our relationship with nature and our obligation to be good stewards of what we've inherited and the landscapes that need to be conserved in the future. You don't need a laptop, textbook or even a pencil. Just bring an open mind, keep your eyes and ears open and step into our classroom. What you learn might win you a trip to Elk Camp. What you learn might change your life.
Essay: Write a 250- to 1,000-word essay that answers the following question: "How have the experiences of hunting and learning about nature helped me in other aspects of my life."
Eligibility: Youth (ages 10-18)

1st Place – Winner will receive round-trip airfare for the winner and one parent or legal guardian from within the Continental U.S. to Reno, Nevada, and three nights at the Silver Legacy Hotel. Also included is full registration to Elk Camp for the winner and one parent or legal guardian.
Winner Must Attend Elk Camp The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s Annual Elk Camp will be held February 21-24, 2008 in Reno, Nevada, where the winner will be recognized. The winning essay will be published in an issue of Bugle magazine in 2008.
