Posted - Feb 13 2008 : 2:00:08 PM I remember one particular Nanci Griffith song (it's a cover, actually) called "Nightrider's Lament" - it turned my tide back in college. It got me thinking about living wild and how I really wanted to earn my living out there. At the time, I was trying to get into vet school, and I realized it was too tame for me. I applied for a summer job as a fisheries technician, and the rest is history!
These days, I listen to a little bit of everything as long as it moves me somehow. Music has such power to inspire. I'm not skilled at creating it, but I love having a "soundtrack" to my life.

Posted - Jul 13 2008 : 07:07:34 AM I really love instrumental music. Anything by the classical composers, Celtic music, and I really enjoy listening to some of the Native American music too. Getting out in Nature and listening to a really strong rhythm is so amazing. Now all I need is a mountain meadow, a strong horse and my mp3 player full of music and I would be in seventh heaven!!

Posted - Jul 12 2008 : 11:17:54 PM I love Bluegrass, and listen to light classical when I need quiet and solitude. But I do love old country, some folk music and John Denver too. |

Posted - Mar 18 2008 : 8:49:09 PM I'll have to pull out some Willie now! Love old cowboy music. I'm always singing old cowboy songs! When I leave with a patient on a stretcher, I sing Happy Trails to you....... until we meet again. I had a Dale Evans lunchbox in kindergarden.
Hoyt Axton is also a big favorite "boney fingers"

Posted - Mar 18 2008 : 4:06:11 PM Found it, listened, and love that one, Jo!! Strikes a chord as I sit here looking out on the flooding creeks outside my window. Spring rains are here! Been listening to Willie Nelson lately. My girls' favorite is "Red-Headed Stranger." They dig old cowboy anything. I'm partial to "Hands on the Wheel" right now...

Posted - Mar 17 2008 : 10:22:08 PM I love that song....... I listen to Ripplin' Waters to make me feel nostalgic, think we listened to it on Sunday morning again.
I got rippling waters to wake me To the morning, my woman and love Our tall pine trees are pointing us easily to heaven above Blue spruce flaming on the grate in the evening Takes the chill away fine Cut the telephone line and the storys the same
Theres an old red chair by our window.......
