I read in my favorite natural health book (Healing With Whole Foods by Paul Pitchford) that hydrogen peroxide is an ideal cleanser for fruits & veggies because it not only kills bacteria/parasites but also "denatures" pesticides. The recommended usage is spraying the H2O2 directly on produce, then rinsing with water. You can also soak produce in a solution of 10% peroxide & water for 20 minutes.
Remember that organic produce can retain some pesticide residue, too!

I didn't know that hydrogen peroxide could be so useful. I will have to go stock up at the local dollar store!
