I was amazed when I went to the thrift store the other day and the price of a dozen canning jars was around $7! Last year they were $3 -$4. Free is much better. On dehydraters in a dry climate you can solar dry. When we rented the solar powered cabin they had a huge one. One of my dehydraters has screen trays and sometimes I just set my stuff on one and cover with the other and lay them out. Also I've heard to put things on tray in a car on hot days and that can dehydrate them. JoAnn
