We had british doctors spend the night last night that had just summited Denali last week! What an interesting evening we had. They ate us out of house and home and had lost a great deal of muscle mass, I've been cooking for twenty four hours. We had given them our phone number when we met in Talkeetna three weeks ago as they were wating for their shuttle to Ruth Glacier on Denali. They carried 75 pounds each of food and gear to make it to the top of the mountain.

We had a slideshow of their climb after dinner last night set to the music of "Coldplay" (british of course). They were so delightful. I'll try to put up some photos on my website of George, James and Jeremy. They left for Valdez to kayak this morning and I saw them off on the train.

It was amazing to see how much weight they lost from their climb. I wish I had before/after photos. They were peeled and so thin, really amazing!

p.s. I'll update with some photos when I have the time to upload

there's no place like home....

I hear you there, Elizaray! I really admire outdoor athletes - such dedication & discipline; must be very rewarding.

I used to work for some people who run marathons and triathalons. Wow- talk about dedication- but I am envious of all the lucious food they eat just to get enough calories! LOL
