If you still need motivation to get factory meat out of your diet, watch this video. It's really awful. Beyond the horribly inhumane treatment of cattle (& poultry), diseased meat is being fed into the National School Lunch Program.

Regarding these poor "downer" cattle (which were dairy cattle in the case above):

"Cows with laminitis -- which is endemic among high-producing dairy cows --
are in such severe pain that they can scarcely stand or walk. The condition
is one of the major reasons for culling cows from milking herds and shipping
them off to be slaughtered for cheap beef."
