I am needing to buy some camping gear in the next year or two. Husband, Me, and toddler.
What is your favorite companies? Maybe not a name brand or maybe a name brand? What has worked the best for you? What has made it through trip after trip?
I really love backpacking and I want to take our daughter out for some good rough weekends, especially while she is still young so she grows up passionate about the wilderness.
We've been using the same gear for ages, nothing high-tech except for a nice Kelty kid pack that was a gift when our 1st daughter was born. It has carried 3 kids and packed hundreds of pounds of elk meat out of the woods without showing any wear! If I were in the market for new stuff, though, I'd first go to UpsideOver (www.upsideover.com) - lots of good stuff for family outings.
I love to hear what brands have held up so well. Lots of stuff looks "purty" but I would love to hear some real-life testimonials, like what you mentioned about the Kelty.
