Kids are the ultimate outdoor litmus test! Nora has been sick this past week and was really sick on Tuesday. Lack luster and not her normal self in addition to the angry rash that was all over her body. So we were outside waiting for a ride to the doctor and it perked her up! She was running around enjoying finding every mud slick and puddle that she could! I had to change her clothes before our ride arrived (they were running late) because she laid down in an icy puddle and was laughing!

When you child has been sick and not acting themselves it is pretty hard to take her away from something that at least for the moment, was giving her so much joy!

Next time I am feeling really cruddy I think I will go take a walk. Maybe being out of doors will help!

Nora is STILL Sick, but she is getting better and today was so beautiful. So we bundled up a little bit, stuck a hanky my pocket, clipped a leash on the dog and walked to the park! I didn't realize that the park was only about 4 blocks away. Crossing the scary 4 lane almost-highway has kept me on this side of the road. But I figured that I was born with arms for a reason, so I just picked up Nora and scooted across the road. The rest of the time she walked. At first her nose was practically STREAMING non stop, but the more we were outside, the more her sinuses cleared. She played for a good hour before a tumble from the swings kindof ruined the mood a bit. So we walked home after some extra love.

By the time we got home, her runny nose was completely dry! We had to run to the grocery store and it didn't start running again! I was able to put her to bed with a dry nose for the first time in 2 weeks! Her poor skin is so chapped and sore and I give credit to Mother Nature for giving her a break from the sniffles. We are definitely going outside for at least an hour tomorrow rain or shine!

My baby loves to be outside too! When we are walking down the street, she will start running to go jump in a puddle! It is so cute! I can't wait until this summer. She is going to have so much fun splashing in streams and playing at the lake!

So sorry to hear that Nora's still sick, Alee. I tell you, my kids seem to have had some kind of bug ALL winter. Usually it's just the sniffles, but still! Getting them outside does seem to help so much (and we bought a humidifier for nighttime since it's so dry here). Enjoy the sunshine; I think it helps cure all
